I have been told that a frequently googled question is ‘Who am I?’ (‘Who are you?’) and I don’t doubt that it is probably frequently googled throughout the world. So, here’s my take on answering this very pertinent question. Look at this article with the intention to see how you can apply it effectively in your life.
First, I’ll start by saying who you are not (not really).
Who you are not is your superficial ego self, the masks you wear. Who you are not (not really) is your age (as the saying goes, age is just a number), position in society, occupation, the culture you belong to, beliefs, financial status, social status, matrimonial status, sexuality, the clothes you wear, the way you talk…
-Take away all these things and you still have you!
All these things of course have value, but they are just superficial identities (like masks). Putting too much value on any of them may cause break downs, high anxiety, pain and trauma or even death if their existence is threatened or lost:
Any great attachments to these things cause one to falsely identify (misidentify) oneself with who they truly really are: If you get the idea that this is who you really are then you’ll never know your true self, its dynamic nature, and how you can have real cause and effect over your life.
You will be forever disempowered and steered by puppeteers for so many things… Forever trying to seek approval from others with an over concern for being liked. -This is just one example.
Same goes in principle when it comes to your past. Who you are is not your past. Sure, you have such a thing but, take away this and and you still have you! In other words, does your past own you or do you own it?
Further, who you really are is not just a physical body, with all its biochemical reactions, and when you die the only thing you’ll be doing is contributing to pushing up daisies through your decaying mass in the soil! No! Reasons will be given further into this article.
The true self – who you really are
Who you are is not merely a human having a conscious experience. In fact, it’s the opposite: You are consciousness having a human experience…
This aspect, who you really are as a consciousness, having out-of-the-body experiences, has been well-documented.
For example, there have been a number of cases where, on the operating table, patients had been recorded and document as clinically dead: There were no readings of brainwave or heart activity. However, after these near-death experiences, when brought round, these patients recall in some details things that had happened during their temporary death.
Conscious awareness had persisted and near-death experiencers report a far richer, broader multidimensional conscious experience than in the body… These startling revelations change everything!
Consider the eye-opening research of doctor Sam Parnia M.D, PhD, and his book “Lucid Dying: The New Science Revolutionizing How We Understand Life and Death.” It has been said that his research undoubtedly comes from the perspective of the evolution of consciousness.
Historically, and it still goes on today, the idea that there is consciousness flies in the face of many involved in conventional science. Many scientists have been most unwilling to embrace consciousness. They still cling on to the age-old idea that we are mere biochemical mechanisms in a mechanistic material universe, as Rupert Sheldrake states, in his 10 untruths about science.
As more research comes forward from courageous researchers, willing to ignore the potential ridicule in pursuit of their truth, will science and the scientific community finally be willing to drop their dogmas and take conscious seriously in the numbers…?
Therefore, who you really are is an eternal consciousness, infinite possibility… so what do you chose? Freedom or victimhood; truthfulness or lies; love or fear…? -It’s up to you by dint of how you relate to your identity. That is, where you are at with your consciousness: your thoughts, feelings, emotions, outlook on life. Your attitude…
Who you really are is your commitments in life. What are you really committed to?
Who you really are is what you stand in action for. What do you stand for? Who you really are is a creative being… How creative are you? When it comes to living out your creative expressions, taking action, just how courageous are you? Just how far are you prepared to go when the chips are down or when escaping your comfort zone…?
Given this, who are you as a resource? How could you be of service to others? What are you doing for the world? Consider who you are as one of a number of collective individuals as a resource for creating a planetary awakening.
The choice is up to you. It’s up to all of us.
-When you fully become your true authentic self as an expression, coming from your inner being as in cases of the above, in effect you become invisible. Who you really are is invisible.
-That concludes you really are.
