7 Health Misunderstandings -Do You Have Any of These?

Health-iNewParadigm. Health Misunderstandings

Health misunderstandings: It has to be remembered that mainstream media is heavily sponsored by various corporations. Take the case of food corporations; they may influence various media sources through sponsorship to such an extent that the diet and nutrition reported about their products may be biased and misleading.

This can give rise to a range of  health misunderstandings people with regard to their health.

Other ways in which people get misconceptions or misunderstandings about their health can be through hearing things said by the consensus of the masses: Just because something is said and agreed upon by people in high numbers doesn’t necessarily mean it’s true! Remember, many years ago, you had people in high numbers agreeing that applying leeches was an effective form of treatment and certain ridiculous old wives tales were true…

-Ultimately, it’s about raising awareness.

So, in light of the above, here are my 7 health misunderstandings people have about their health.

1.”Saturated fat is bad for you.”

Care of slick advertising/marketing campaigns fat, and more so, saturated fat, has had some seriously bad press. Food corporations don’t miss out in labelling their products ‘fat free’ when this is the case…

Remember, however, the schools’ biology text books saying that fat is an essential dietary requirement? More specifically, studies have shown that saturated fat can be very healthy and should not be demonized the way it has been. It’s a myth to think that it directly contributes to heart disease. In fact, as reported by the ‘Food and Nutrition Board’ it does the reverse. An example of an excellent healthy saturated fat good for cardiovascular function is coconut oil.

2.”Cholesterol is bad for you.”

Cholesterol, like saturated fat, is not the darkly demon it has been labelled as. Firstly, the body’s metabolism is likely to make roughly 4 times more cholesterol than that coming from the diet. So a thoughtful choice of the foods you eat related to lowering your cholesterol is not necessary even if it wasn’t so good. Cholesterol has multiple roles. It has an involvement in converting sunlight into vitamin D, making hormones and contributes to the body’s cell walls… Contrary to what’s been said, high cholesterol doesn’t mean that a heart attack or stroke is imminent.

3.”GMO is safe.”

It’s funny how the above statement is frequently linked to corporations manufacturing GMO or those with other forms of vested interest like academic institutions relying on sponsorship..!

The paid off press, paid to keep the above statement going giving complete ‘thumbs up’ to GMO safety have blatantly ignored many scientific reports showing evidence to the contrary.

4. The exercise “no pain no gain” myth

It doesn’t have to be a great strenuous effort to benefit from the wonderful effects of regular exercise…

5.”Chemicals and additives in foods are okay because they’re only in small quantities.”

This is not the case! When someone frequently has processed foods for examples like processed meats with their potentially dangerous chemicals and then there’s artificial sweeteners such as aspartame…in the numbers and over the years, this doesn’t add up to small quantities. Also, these chemicals can work together synergistically… The effects can be detrimental to health. Cancer (as shown by the world cancer research fund), heart disease, kidney problems and cognitive problems can manifest.

Avoid processed foods!

6.”The HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is reliable.”

another one of the health misunderstandings. Many people don’t realize just how unreliable it is. It may be quite a shock to you when indeed considering the implications.

7.”Milk is good for you.”

Like the other health misunderstandings, this one may well have come deceptive marketing.

This Contrary to what the media and milk marketing boards want you to believe milk is NOT a healthy product. Basically, the healthiness is ruined by the industrial processing: The pasteurization, sterilization and homogenization processes kill the proteins, beneficial bacteria, vitamins and enzymes… making milk a different physical structure and far less nutritious to what it originally was. Growth hormone used to treat the cows is also present. -The net result of all this can cause allergies, inability to absorb the calcium and immune system related problems…

In conclusion

That concludes my 7 health misunderstandings. I hope you have gained some useful insights.

As always, discernment is key.
