Melatonin 7 Invaluable Health Benefits Why it’s Been Suppressed

Melatonin

Melatonin, whether it’s produced naturally by the pineal gland from a small pine cone structure located at the center of the brain, or taken as a supplement; this hormone gives many invaluable health benefits.

Health benefits include.

1. Anti-cancerous properties

Evidence suggests that melatonin reduces the rate of cancer proliferation (slows down the rapid growth of cancer cells). There have been in-vitro laboratory experiments showing how melatonin has been able to slow down tumor growth.

2. Lowers blood pressure

If our biological clock (circadian rhythm) has been disturbed, then blood pressure regulation may, in turn, be affected. This may result in high blood pressure. Round-the-clock ABPM (Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring) may be needed.

Melatonin at nighttime, when taken as a supplement, using appropriate amounts, just before going to bed, can significantly lower systolic blood pressure.

3. Improves sleep

Following on from 2 (above), during darkness, the body naturally produces melatonin in anticipation of sleep. Melatonin contributes to maintaining the body’s circadian rhythm. This helps with blood pressure dipping (too low) which can be restored.

Melatonin isn’t a “sedative.” However, it improves sleep in an indirect way through promoting a “quiet wakefulness.” Remember, if you’re using melatonin as a supplement, take it just before sleep time as a timed-release dose in appropriate amounts, as advised by a health professional.

Further, it helps with sleep disorders: Insomnia, jet-lag, coping with sleep after night shift work then trying to sleep during the daytime…

4. Help with disease prevention

As the saying goes, prevention is the best form of cure!

5. Improves general health

Melatonin is a powerful antioxidant. For example, when the body produces this hormone at nighttime it contributes to body detoxification. It attempts to rid the body of oxidative stress while reducing the risk of DNA damage… further it helps promote good heart health and cardiovascular function.

It also helps to promote and maintain mitochondrial integrity.

It complements and can act synergistically with other health-promoting aspects: Good diet, exercise, a healthy environment and maintaining psychological well-being.

6. Improves general healing

For example, research has found that melatonin may have a significant positive impact on wound healing.

As well as an anti-inflammatory, it also helps with recovery from disease-like symptoms. Think of all the potential melatonin has for relief from pain and discomfort in relation to this.

One thing that should be mentioned. You may have made it to middle or old age, but as you get older, and if this is the case, then your body may make less melatonin than a younger person. Therefore, it may be worth considering taking melatonin as a supplement.

7. Helps regulate core body temperature

As this hormone is involved with the circadian rhythm, it has the effect of regulating the body’s core temperature. -The highest temperature during the day and the lowest at night.

Mainstream media silence

Given that melatonin can do all these wonderful things and much more, why is the mainstream media silent?? The mainstream media is not just making hollow denials about the invaluable health benefits of melatonin, it’s much worse:

-They’re giving it a bad name. Unjustified scare stories and propaganda may prevail.

Reports such as “Melatonin overdoses Among Kids Are Up 530%, New Research Finds.”  Or, how about “Long-term Melatonin Use Linked to 90% Higher Heart Failure Risk.”  Then there’s the article entitled “A Study Questions Melatonin Use and Heart Health, but Don’t Lose Sleep Over It.”

Some of these stories are quite misleading. For example, when looked into, it turns out that the melatonin overdoses by kids were mainly accidental. -There were no symptoms reported directly linking to melatonin as the cause.

Around the time that these negative mainstream media reports came about, it just so happened to coincide with the many above-mentioned related invaluable health benefits.

In other words, regardless of the scare stories and propaganda; overall, melatonin should be included in a list of other great health contributors such as Ivermectin, Mebendazole and Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO)…

Yes, sure, melatonin has a number of side effects. Side effects include dizziness, drowsiness, bad or vivid dreams, headaches… Then there are patients who need careful monitoring by healthcare professionals or avoid treating those with kidney problems, autoimmune or bleeding disorders, and pregnant women…

-Be it naturopathic or allopathic there are always side effects. Discernment is always needed for all types of treatment.

Having said that, melatonin has been reported to have a very, very low potential for causing acute toxicity… There are no cases with animal studies, where animals have been treated and subsequently died due to toxicity, regardless of dosage. Mind you, they may have overslept!

Greatly outweighing the negatives, could the mainstream media and its suppression of overwhelming positive evidence be due to the fact that their sponsors, Big Pharma, do not want you to know about melatonin? (Yes, it’s a rhetorical question!).

Melatonin is a natural hormone, therefore it cannot be patented and sold as a Big Pharma product. In other words, Big Pharma can’t have you buying treatment from its naturopathic competitors. -No money to be here for Big Pharma there.

Finally

The evidence from independent research suggests that melatonin should be welcomed as a good overall or specific helper for health and well-being. -It’s not just good at getting you off to sleep at night.

However, it should be remembered that this article is not a healthcare guide or treatment regimen: It is not to be construed as medical advice. Any healthcare advice on melatonin should always be from a trusted, trained professional.
